The 1856 Legacy Society logo

The 1856 Legacy Society, named to commemorate the founding of Albright College, plays an important role in enhancing Albright's educational mission. The society is made up of Albright alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends who have created planned gifts to benefit the College. Currently, more than 350 individuals are members of the society.  Every member has generously agreed to provide the College planned gifts such as charitable bequests, remainder trusts, gift annuities, and life insurance proceeds.

Donors become society members when they inform the College that they have independently established a planned gift, or when they work with College staff in creating such a gift. A gift may be of any size. Donors determine the type of planned gift and its size based on their personal experience, individual financial objectives, and other special interests.

Planned gifts have always been a crucial part of the College's financial growth and stability, especially regarding endowment funds. Some of Albright's buildings and many scholarships bear the names of generous donors who chose to create a planned gift. These tributes illustrate well how planned gifts continue to have a lasting impact on our students' lives.

Albright College sincerely thanks all of our 1856 Legacy Society members for investing in the security and growth of the College. These donors have entrusted their dreams and aspirations for the future of Albright into the care and custody of the College. They have welcomed Albright into their families by sharing from the bounty of their nest egg, estate, or other resources. We invite you to follow their generous lead by joining the 1856 Legacy Society through your planned gifts.
