Meet the Staff



Deborah M. McCreery, J.D.
Vice President for Advancement

McCreery oversees the College’s Advancement Division, comprising alumni relations, college relations and marketing, and development, as well as the $55 million That Their Light May Shine: The Campaign for Albright College, the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the school’s history. Prior to joining Albright, Deborah served as vice president for institutional advancement at the College of Saint Elizabeth, Morristown, N.J., where she secured the institution’s largest single alumna donation, a gift of $1.2 million for a biology laboratory renovation project, and increased annual giving by 25 percent. Prior to joining the College of Saint Elizabeth, McCreery spent 20 years at Widener University School of Law. McCreery holds a juris doctor from Temple University School of Law and a bachelor of arts from Temple. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1991 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 2002.



Judson K. “Jud” Crihfield
Assistant Vice President for Development

Jud oversees the College’s Development Office, comprising major and planned gifts, leadership gifts, The Fund for Albright, the Parents Program, and donor relations. He also works with the advancement committee of the board of trustees, the campaign executive committee, and the alumni association board. Before coming to Albright in April 2015, Jud was Assistant Dean of External Relations for the University of Maryland’s College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Prior to that, he was at Johns Hopkins University for eight years in various capacities, including regional major gifts, and from 2004 to 2009 he served as Director of Annual Giving. A veteran of three multi-billion dollar campaigns, he began his career at the University of South Carolina as Director of Development for the College of Science and Mathematics. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jud graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Wofford College and has a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of South Carolina.


Ralia Vardaxis

Leadership Gifts Officer

Ralia Vardaxis joined the development team at Albright College in February 2011, where her responsibilities include building and strengthening relationships with leadership donors and prospects to advance the College’s mission. Prior to that, she managed the community relations function for Wachovia Bank in Central Pennsylvania, until joining the Reading Symphony Orchestra, leading their development efforts.  Ralia is an Albright alumna from the Class of 1987, who received her B.A. in English-Communications and German.  She is active in the Reading community having served as Board President for Berks Arts Council and currently a member of the Board of Directors for the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts.



Andy Baumbach
Leadership Gifts Officer

Andy Baumbach joined the development team at Albright College in June 2013, where his responsibilities include identifying, building and strengthening relationships with parents, alumni and friends to advance Albright’s mission. In addition, he serves as the department’s liaison with athletic fundraising. Prior to arriving at Albright, Andy worked at various colleges and universities as a development professional, including Syracuse and Villanova Universities. He received his BS in public relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a M.Ed. from Temple University.
